We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and results-driven Shipyard Purchasing Officer to join our customers shipyard team. As a critical member of our clients procurement department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, goods, and services essential to shipyard operations. A successful candidate will possess a blend of strong negotiation capabilities, meticulous organizational skills, and a passion for building productive relationships with vendors and suppliers.  

 

Responsibilities will include 
– Managing the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection and negotiation to final acquisition and delivery of materials, ensuring alignment with company policies and project schedules.  
– Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring high-quality materials at the best possible cost.  
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to support long-term partnerships and collaboration.  
– Review and analyze inventory usage to avoid material shortages or excess stock, ensuring cost-effectiveness across all purchasing activities.  
– Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment agreements with suppliers while safeguarding the company’s best interests.  
– Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, production, finance, and logistics, to anticipate material needs and address supply chain challenges.  
– Ensure that all purchases adhere to environmental, safety, and legal compliance standards.  
– Prepare regular procurement reports, track spending, and identify opportunities for operational improvements.  
– Handle supplier disputes and resolve issues promptly to mitigate project risks or unexpected delays.

– Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a shipyard, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.  
– Demonstrated ability to negotiate successful contracts with suppliers while maintaining professional relationships.  
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders effectively.  
– Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.  
– Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory practices, and warehouse operations.  
– Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).  
– Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on improving efficiencies and driving cost savings.  
– A commitment to upholding ethical procurement and promoting sustainability in purchasing decisions.

      Refit Sales Manager

      Is your network focussed around yacht captains, management companies or even owners?

      We’re working with a leading international shipyard network as they look to attract new business with the hiring of a Sales Manager mainly focussed on business growth at their French facility. 

      An exciting and challenging role that will be a key part of the business growth, the position is remote based but with some expectation to visit the yard in South West France as required. Reporting into the divisional CEO, the role will expect you to:

      – Work with your existing network to encourage interest and the opportunity to quote for refit and maintenance works 

      – Attend shows and events to promote the business and encourage further enquiries

      – Analyse and reach out to existing and past contacts to promote the business and encourage returning business

      – Work with the estimators and project management team to create accurate and competitive quotations

      – Act as a direct point of contact on all commercial matters

       

      In a candidate we’re seeking someone with 10+ years in the industry who has built a strong international network that their can leverage to generate new business. You’ll have a solid technical understanding as well as the ability to build rapport and generate interest in the company and its services. You’ll be offered an annual salary plus performance related bonus based on business sold and have a chance to pitch for projects up to 125m (shipyard alongside capacity)
