Systems & Electrical Design Engineer

We're working with a fantastic contemporary sailing yacht brand based in Germany as they seek an all-round design engineer to join them, working on a range of yachts in the 70-100ft space. 

Ten years ago this exciting brand brought to market a contemporary and minimalist style of yacht that caught the industry off-guard. Using colours and finishes more at home in a scandanavian city, the brand has grown a real following and launched countless more vessels between 70 and 100ft. Today they build 5-7 yachts a year, all semi custom or full custom and sold to a mixture of global clients. 

Deputising to the head of engineering the role will include the following duties:

- Design and engineering of systems, interiors, composites and deck gear

- Creation of composite mouldings, structures and laminate schedules 

- Specification and selection of onboard machinery and systems 

- Support production through pre-build and in-build phases, troubleshooting and making design changes to maintain build quality, NVH and to meet cost targets. 

In candidate we seek an individual with a naval architecture or mechanical engineering background and a passion for sailing. You'll be confident working on composite craft to engineer across a multitude of different disciplines and be able to work with those around you to guarantee outcomes that are of the highest quality. 5+ years of solidworks experience is also necessary. 

You'll be joining a small but very talented engineering team based on site at the shipyard and have the opportunity to see your work come to life.
