Draughtsperson

I am currently working with a firm that has effectively bridged the gap between elite competition racing and global commercial shipping. They are the driving force behind some of the most recognisable wind-propulsion and foiling technologies in the market today. This is an invitation for a Draughtsperson who wants to move away from repetitive, standard drafting and into a role where they are documenting the future of maritime decarbonisation.

With several "first of class" projects now moving from the design office into physical production, the company is in a significant scale-up phase. The business challenge is no longer just about the "theory" of foiling—it’s about the reality of manufacturing these complex systems at scale. We need someone who can provide the initial colour on how these novel designs are translated into a buildable reality for their global manufacturing partners.

This isn't a role for a "tracer." You will be getting under the skin of highly complex assemblies, working closely with the engineering team to ensure every detail is production-ready.

  • The Toolkit: You’ll be a power-user in a 3D environment (likely Rhino or AutoCAD), creating high-precision 2D technical drawings from complex 3D models.
  • The Detail: Your desk will focus on the structural and mechanical integration of wing-sails and foil systems. This involves everything from plate nesting and fabrication drawings to detailed outfitting and system schematics.
  • The Standard: You’ll be ensuring that every drawing meets the rigorous standards required by international classification societies while maintaining the high-performance tolerances this firm is known for.

The office culture is high-energy and incredibly collaborative. It’s a "heads-up" environment where the Draughting team is seen as the vital link between the Naval Architects and the physical build. You’ll be sitting in a studio where the pace is fast, but the work is rewarding—you are seeing your drawings turn into award-winning hardware in record time. It’s a space for those who take pride in technical accuracy and want to be part of a team that is genuinely moving the needle on maritime emissions.

The Requirement

  • A strong background in maritime, aerospace, or automotive draughting.
  • High proficiency in 3D-to-2D technical drawing (Rhino / AutoCAD).
  • Experience in creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for complex structures.
  • An eye for detail and a "first principles" approach to problem-solving on the drawing board.
  • A desire to work on innovative, sustainability-led projects.
