Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of all production departments within the shipyard.
- Oversee manufacturing from composite moulding and structural assembly through to fit-out, systems installation, testing and commissioning.
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure customer delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate resources across multiple production disciplines to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Monitor production KPIs including labour efficiency, schedule adherence, quality performance and production output.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are efficiently translated into production.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout every stage of the manufacturing process.
- Lead, mentor and develop supervisors, team leaders and production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.
- Manage production reporting, capacity planning and resource forecasting.
- Support the introduction of new manufacturing technologies, production methods and best practices.
- Contribute to strategic operational planning as the business continues to expand.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager within yacht building, shipbuilding or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of composite manufacturing, yacht assembly and marine production processes.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary production teams within a structured manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Strong production planning, scheduling and resource management experience.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing production costs, labour efficiency and operational performance.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English is essential.
