Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of all production departments within the shipyard.
  • Oversee manufacturing from composite moulding and structural assembly through to fit-out, systems installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to ensure customer delivery deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple production disciplines to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Monitor production KPIs including labour efficiency, schedule adherence, quality performance and production output.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are efficiently translated into production.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout every stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Lead, mentor and develop supervisors, team leaders and production personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.
  • Manage production reporting, capacity planning and resource forecasting.
  • Support the introduction of new manufacturing technologies, production methods and best practices.
  • Contribute to strategic operational planning as the business continues to expand.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager within yacht building, shipbuilding or advanced manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of composite manufacturing, yacht assembly and marine production processes.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary production teams within a structured manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Strong production planning, scheduling and resource management experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing production costs, labour efficiency and operational performance.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English is essential.
