SYR are supporting one of our long term clients in their need to expand their team with a draughtsperson. A multifaceted engineering studio they offer design, engineering and naval architecture to a broad array of businesses across the maritime space. With a team of 20 they have enjoyed steady growth and now seek to once again hire to cope with demand.
The role of draftsperson will come with the following duties;
- Working with the design team to turn 3D CAD into 2D production drawings
- Providing high quality output in autocad that can be used and supplied to classification and regualtion societies for approval
- Assisting in the creation of BOMs
- Providing feedback to colleagues and clients on potential design tweaks and/or changes
- Attending meetings and events where required
In a candidate we seek someone with a higher education or degree level experience in a maritime discipline such as yacht design or naval architecture. With a broad understanding of boat design you'll be comfortable in the use of 3D and 2D CAD and be able to produce accurate and detailed output for use by shipyards and other stakeholders. Confident to work to challenging timescales and to support your colleagues, you'll be a solid communicator and a team player.
