The client is a leading global maritime management service company, also specialized in Yacht Operational Management, New Build and Refit services.
General Job Description
The head of yacht operation will be responsible for the overall supervision of the fleet of yachts, supervising daily activities, compliance, operation, budgets and reporting. She/He will be responsible of a team of highly skilled specialists: yacht managers, crew managers and administrators, compliance manager and yacht administrators. Responsibility to provide reporting and assistance to the clients as/when required. Part of the role will also involve direct operational management of certain yachts, as primary point of contact between the vessel and the Owner’s representatives. She/He will work under direct supervision and reporting to the Managing Director.
Requirements
• Ideally track record experience in yacht management, shore based.
•Minimum 10 to 15 years’ overall experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, diplomacy skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels (dealing with Owners, Captains, suppliers and various stakeholders).
• Effective solution finding, autonomous, disciplined and multi-tasking abilities.
• Able to perform under stressful situations, involving multicultural environment and diverse topics.
• General technical knowledge of large yachts and their operation.
• Excellent knowledge of budget aspects and financial reporting.
• Team leader and team player.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written) and proficiency in other languages will be an advantage.
• Good sense of humour.
• Supervision and support of overall Fleet Management (private and commercial vessels).
• Supervision of Compliance Management (supported by dedicated team) and Crew Management (supported by dedicated team).
• Ensuring that all safety management processes, and compliance aspects are correctly implemented and followed (supported by dedicated compliance manager)
• Supervision Certification (Statutory and Class) and Insurance.
• Budget and cost control (cash flow management, reporting to clients,…).
• Safety Management/ISM.
• Participation and leading role in the Emergency Response Team.
• Develop and improve operational processes, systems and organization.
• Coordination and administration of management software tools.
• Research and continuous improvement for management tools and processes.
• Support in selection and negotiation of suppliers / provider for the operation.
• Helping with any other ad hoc tasks reasonably requested.
