Graduate Mechanical Engineer

This firm has successfully translated high-stakes racing technology into the global commercial sector. They are now looking for the next generation of top-tier talent to join them. This is an invitation for a high-achieving Graduate Mechanical Engineer—specifically those who have secured a First Class Honours from a Russell Group university—to start their career at the sharp end of global decarbonisation.

The company is in the midst of a significant scale-up phase. They have moved past R&D and are now delivering "first of class" wind-propulsion and foiling systems to the global market. The business challenge is to maintain the pace of innovation while industrialising these novel solutions for the world's merchant fleets. We need a graduate who can provide immediate value on complex mechanical problems and grow into a technical lead during this period of strategic growth.

This isn't a role where you’ll be stuck doing data entry. You will be expected to dive into the core of real-world mechanical systems from day one.

  • The Rigour: You’ll be applying first-principles thinking to the design and analysis of high-load mechanical structures, utilizing advanced FEA and 3D modeling tools.

  • The Scope: Your desk will involve the development of complex actuators, wing-sail mechanisms, and foiling hardware. You’ll be bridging the gap between theoretical simulation and physical prototype testing.

  • The Challenge: You will be solving the "impossible" hurdles of maritime sustainability—reducing weight while increasing the durability of systems that must perform in the harshest environments on earth.

The studio is a high-autonomy, high-intellect space. You’ll be working alongside specialists who have come out of F1, America's Cup, and Aerospace. It is a collaborative culture where the hierarchy is flat and the best idea always wins. For a graduate, this is an unmatched opportunity to be mentored by world-class engineers in a setting where your work translates directly into physical hardware. It’s a fast-paced environment that rewards those who are self-driven and genuinely excited by the prospect of Net Zero.

The Requirement

  • A First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline) from a Russell Group university.

  • A strong grasp of engineering first principles and a passion for complex problem-solving.

  • Exposure to CAD (Rhino/SolidWorks) and FEA packages during your studies or placements.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a high-performance studio.

  • A demonstrable interest in sustainable technology and maritime innovation.
