Are you passionate about the maritime space and have experience in composite design engineering with marine structures?
SYR are working with a longstanding client on a role for a design engineer with composites expertise. Famed for their custom yacht tender design and build, the yard are continuing to grow and evolve to cope with demand from the luxury yacht sector.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role includes the following duties:
- Composite design engineering in both GRP and carbon fibre
- Composite structural design and analysis
- Production of laminate schedules and production documentation
- Selection of suitable materials required for each projects
- Population of BOMs and procurement of materials
Our ideal candidate will come from a background in marine composites or naval architecture and understand the challenges of designing in composite. You'll have a grasp on the differing layup and manufacturing methods and their strengths and weaknesses. Working closely with the rest of the team you'll be the expert on all things composite and capable of owning decisions in this space
