Employment Type: Full-time
About the Client
Our client is a globally respected specialist in engineered composite rig solutions, delivering projects from initial concept through to installation and final delivery. Drawing on decades of engineering expertise, cutting-edge composite technologies, and a unique manufacturing process, they produce elegant, reliable, and high-performance solutions for both cruising and racing vessels.
Their work combines advanced engineering with precision craftsmanship, supporting some of the most technically demanding composite structures in the marine industry.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled Composite Fabricator to join the team in the Netherlands. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role with involvement across manufacture, installation, repair, maintenance, and refit of high-performance composite rig components.
The role focuses heavily on pre-preg composite fabrication, but also requires a wider understanding of composite processes, bonding, finishing, and quality control. You will be working on critical structural components where strength, weight optimisation, and finish quality are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate composite components using pre-preg carbon fibre and advanced composite materials
- Carry out laminating, bonding, trimming, and finishing operations to engineering specifications
- Support installation, repair, maintenance, and refit work on composite rig structures
- Prepare moulds, tooling, materials, and consumables for composite fabrication
- Perform vacuum bagging, cure preparation, and post-cure handling of components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, laminate schedules, and technical documentation
- Inspect finished components, identify defects, and support repair and rework solutions
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, and workshop discipline
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fellow fabricators to meet quality and delivery targets
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Composite Fabricator, Composite Technician, or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with pre-preg carbon fibre laminating
- Solid understanding of composite manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control
- Experience with vacuum bagging systems and controlled curing environments
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards
- Comfortable working across new build, repair, and refit composite projects
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings and build documentation
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and pride in workmanship
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience within the marine, yacht, or rigging sector
- Exposure to on-site installation or service work
- Knowledge of secondary bonding, structural repairs, or complex composite assemblies
- Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles
What’s on Offer
- Opportunity to work with a leading composite rig engineering specialist
- Technically challenging projects across high-performance cruising and racing vessels
- A collaborative, highly skilled engineering and fabrication environment
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Long-term career development within an innovative composite manufacturing business
