Lead Designer/Project Manager

We’re working with a world-famous superyacht design studio who are currently looking to bring in a lead-quality candidate to their team in a Lead Design/Project Manager role. 

Located near to Amsterdam, the studio employs a multitalented and truly international team tasked with designing some of the worlds most ambitious yacht projects. from 40m to over 100m, the projects push the boundraries of what’s possible and help to deliver the clients vision in perfect design execution. With a projects list that continues to grow they seek a candidate who can take on a lead role and work across multiple projects from idea to delivery. 

Reporting into the management team and forming part of the most senior team internally, this role will include the following duties:

– Engaging with the client from day one, understanding their brief and requirements in a project

– Creating high level concepts for review and discussion

– Piecing together a project team to cover all required aspects of the project, relaying the brief and managing through the full design journey

– Project managing colleagues internally but also representing the studio at yard visits through the build process

– Managing timescales, project expecations and troubleshooting

– Co-ordinating amongst internal and external stakeholders to achieve full project approval

– Acting as main point of contact for client and yard throughout 

 

In a candidate we’re looking for someone who has been working at a high level within superyacht design and is looking for the next step into a true leadership role. Confident in the design (interior or exterior) of yachts in the 50m+ category, you’ll be creative but also able to lead and inspire those around you to see your vision. With strong sketch skills alongside an ability in 3D you’ll be constantly abreast of market trends but with a keen ear for the clients needs, be capable of also fusing trends with clients desire. Well organised aswell, you’ll be able to run multiple projects aswell, acting as the central contact point for all stakeholders.
